What I Did Today: Thursday 5/12/22

Monthly:

• Added vinegar to toilet tanks

Alternate Week:

• Deep-cleaned bathrooms
• Ironed toilet toppers 
• Wiped down hand steamer

Weekly:

• Changed towels in bathrooms & kitchen (+ sponge)
• Emptied household wastebaskets 
• Mopped bathrooms & kitchen
• Refreshed bathmats & toilet toppers in dryer + lint rolled
• Washing machine: wash cycle with Borax
• Wiped down steam mop & vacuum

As Needed:

• Food prep: refilled tea bags; restocked kitchen freezer; portioned & vacuum-sealed burgers & chicken bakes for freezing; took out bacon & breakfast links to thaw
• Refilled hummingbird food squeeze bottle & vinegar bottle
• Restocked bathroom supplies 

Daily:

• Changed kitchen dish cloth & soaked in OxiClean 
• Cleaned litter box
• Descaled tea kettle
• Dishes: washed, dried, put away
• Emptied food scrap bucket
• Made bed & refreshed blanket in dryer
• Made meals 
• Opened driveway gate 
• Pet the cats & put food/water out
• Prepped coffeemaker & tea kettle for the morning
• Refilled Berkey water filter
• Set-up morning dishes & vitamins
• Vacuumed entire house
• Wiped: bathroom mirror & faucet handle; gadgets; kitchen counters/stovetop; lunch cooler bag 

Downtime:

• Exercise: Elliptical noontime (9.49 miles; 42:04 minutes) 
• Blogging, IMDb, journaling, online puzzles, solitaire, watched movies/TV, Wii sports
• Relaxed with my husband: ate salad, chicken with bacon milk gravy dinner & watched ‘City Heat’

HOUSEWORK IS A GOAL, NOT A CHORE:
It feels good to accomplish a goal, and a housewife needs to feel good about what she does every day, from making beds to cleaning toilets. Having something to aim for, and not just something unpleasant to do, is the difference between a goal and a chore; when a housewife views housework tasks as goals instead of chores it can change the way she feels and thinks about housework for the better. Accomplishing goals and feeling good about one’s accomplishments is pivotal in the life of a housewife.
