What I Did Today: Wednesday 7/13/22

Alternate Month:

• Scrubbed oven rack; shower head & hose; tub

Monthly:

• Cleaned pictures, mirror & windows: entrance, front door, kitchen 

Weekly:

• Bleach soak & wash: dish brushes, food scrap bucket, sink strainers
• Cleaned oven glass
• Laundry 3 loads: towels + hot pads, clothes tops, clothes pants; wiped down inner drum & lid 
• Scrubbed dishrack & kitchen sink 

As Needed:

• Food prep: emptied & refilled ice trays; refilled turkey container
• Made hummingbird food & refilled hummingbird feeders  
• Refreshed bath towels in dryer
• Tidied cardboard recycling 

Daily:

• Changed kitchen dish cloth & soaked in OxiClean 
• Cleaned litter box
• Descaled tea kettle
• Dishes: washed, dried, put away
• Emptied food scrap bucket
• Made bed & refreshed blanket in dryer
• Made meals 
• Opened driveway gate 
• Pet the cats & put food/water out
• Prepped coffeemaker & tea kettle for the morning
• Refilled Berkey water filter
• Set-up morning dishes & vitamins
• Vacuumed entire house
• Wiped: bathroom mirror & faucet handle; gadgets; kitchen counters/stovetop; lunch cooler bag 

Downtime:

• Exercise: Kettlebell swings 300am (8kg; 60 swings x 5 sets)
• Blogging, IMDb, journaling, online puzzles, solitaire, watched movies/TV, Wii sports
• Relaxed with my husband: ate salad, chicken with bacon milk gravy dinner & watched episodes of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ 

A HOUSEWIFE ISN’T A MAID:
Cleaning a home and caring for a family does not make a housewife a maid, and it does not excuse family from being responsible for themselves. It is the duty of a housewife to set standards in her home that family members respect and uphold when it comes to keeping a home clean; when family neglects to uphold the standards, it is also the duty of the housewife to enforce the standards. A maid doesn’t have a say in how people behave, but a housewife does have a say in the behaviors of her family because a housewife isn’t a maid.
