Considerate: careful not to cause inconvenience or hurt to others.
I think being considerate to one’s husband has become a lost art, due in large part to popular programming the last 20 to 30 years.
Being married does not give me an excuse to be inconsiderate to my husband and I would be a fool to think that it does.
Just because I have a husband who is legally obligated to me does not mean I have the right to take advantage of his obligation by making his life harder than it needs to be or by disregarding his feelings; nor do I think a husband should treat a wife that way.
I think that being married is all the more reason to be considerate to my husband by not inconveniencing him with a messy house where he can’t find comfort or what he needs; and by not saying hurtful things to him nor to others about him.Being married has actually helped our relationship, but marriage is not a guarantee, as is proven every day in courts and deposition rooms where people who once vowed to love each other until death fight like children through a divorce proceeding; I saw enough of divorces in my former career that I learned what I don’t want.
Marriage takes work and consideration, among other things, and every day is a new opportunity for me to work at being the wife I want to be.
