Adaptable: able to adjust to new conditions.
Whether things change for better or worse, an adaptable wife will rise to the challenge and do her best to make the most of it.
It is okay for a wife to take moments to herself to cry, meditate, pray, and do whatever is necessary to help her accept the things she can’t change and find strength in recognizing that which she can change, namely herself.
I am now going on six years of living in a rural fixer-upper, and there is a lot I can’t change about my home and the area I live in; I’ve had to adapt to a lot of unlikeable things, but I’ve also learned a lot, especially about being a wife, considering we weren’t married when we moved here and got married during the most challenging time of our lives. As an adaptable wife I’m learning to make the most of the best and the least of the worst, knowing that life will change again for the better when I least expect it; and should it change for the worst beyond my control, it will make me stronger and wiser.
For everything that has not been the best, other things have gotten better: budgeting, savings, us, our home, my homemaking skills, and the rising value of the property we live on.
When life changes for the worst, the good thing is that nothing is permanent; but that goes for when life changes for the better too, nothing is permanent; no matter how life changes, though, I prefer having a husband by my side to get through it together.
