Courteous: polite, respectful, or considerate in manner.
I know from experience how important work is, and now that
I’m a housewife I make sure to be courteous and respectful of my husband’s work
schedule by fulfilling his needs so that he can be at his best when he goes to
work.
I don’t text my husband asking when he’ll be home, but he
does text me so I know he’s on his way, mostly for a safety measure; nor do I
bother my husband at work just to make conversation; I respect that he has work
to do when he’s at work and he doesn’t need me interrupting him without good
cause.
It also helps that I’m a night owl and sleep later than him,
so that he has the morning time to exercise and do what he needs to do without
me in his way, especially since we live in a small house; we’re both
introverted and I respect that he wants time, and space, to himself in the
morning since we spend time together in the evenings.
The more I can do to make his time at home easier, the more
he can relax at home and focus on work when he’s at work; as well, he is
courteous to me, he respects the work I do and knows I need time to do
housework. By taking care of housework every day while he is gone, I am able to
relax with him when he comes home and we both enjoy the benefits of each
other’s work, namely a clean house and having money to live.
