Attentive: assiduously (with great care and perseverance) attending to the comfort or wishes of others; very polite or courteous.
One of things I enjoy most about being a housewife is that I only have to be attentive to my husband, our home, and our cats.
I have worked in various capacities outside the home and know exactly what it’s like; I no longer have to be attentive to other people’s needs, especially people who do not love me but only expect me to do the job.
My husband does not love me less or think less of me for being attentive to his needs by providing a clean orderly home; he thinks more of me now than he did when I put my jobs and career first, before we were married. The irony is that it is often women who think less of me for being an attentive housewife who places my husband and home first.
I want my husband to be comfortable at home because the work world is so very uncomfortable, and I’m grateful he wants me to stay home in my comfort zone while he does the hard work of working outside the home.
I want to be polite to my husband, because when I am he is polite back; we have no children in the house but we always say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and ‘you’re welcome’ to each other in courteous tones; no matter the age, magic words matter; and being attentive to one’s spouse matters, too.
