It's not enough for me to just do my daily housework tasks; I want to know how often I do the tasks, but I can't keep track of it all in my mind, so I have made it a point to not only write down what I do in a daily diary but also to tally up how many times I do certain tasks.
Knowing how much I do as a housewife makes me feel better about what I do, and seeing the year-end totals makes me feel like I accomplished a lot for staying home all year. I look forward to seeing how much more I accomplish in 2021!
----------------------------------
2020 Year End Totals:
Full Year:
- Laundry: 510 loads, 253 days
- Made the Bed: 366 days
- Vinegar Rinse Coffee Maker: 12 times
- Washed Dishes: 366 days
I kept track of laundry all year long because that's what I was most curious about; and since I make the bed every day and wash dishes sans dishwasher every day, I know those numbers are accurate; I have also been doing a monthly vinegar rinse on our coffee maker since we bought it in the fall of 2018.
April - December:
- Changed Bed Sheets: 39 times
- Cleaned Bathrooms: 37 times
- Dusted: 73 days
- Mopped: 58 days
- Took out Garbage: 61 times
- Took out Recycling: 81 times
- Vacuumed: 202 days
2020 was my first year of keeping a housework diary and I didn't start it until April, so my records weren't as thorough when I started compared to the end of the year; so the April - December numbers may not be the most accurate, but that's okay because it's better to start and improve over time than to not start at all.
