This month was the fourteenth month of keeping track of my daily housework tasks, and this is the month I hit the wall!
I have been doing housework 7 days a week for 14 months straight without a vacation, and actually longer but no documentation of it.
So, I gave myself a 'spring break' week as a birthday gift to myself, where I took the third week off from weekly housework tasks but still kept up on daily housework tasks.
Taking the break gave me time to reassess my housework goals:
- Originally I wanted to engrain my housework tasks into me so that I didn't feel lost in my home, and I have succeeded at that;
- I also wanted to make up for a lot of time living in my home that I didn't clean it in the previous years, and I have succeeded at that too.
Now with the summer months here and recognizing that sometimes there aren't enough hours in the days or weeks, I am going to change some of my weekly tasks (dusting, polishing, & bathrooms) to every other week.
Of course I will always do spot cleaning when it's needed, but it's time for a change and time for other interests while the weather is nice (and the house is overly warm!).
